เรื่อง แจ๊คผู้ฆ่ายักษ์ (Jack and the beanstalk)

Once upon a time there was a boy called Jack.
He lived with his mother.
They were very poor.
All they had was a cow.
กาลครั้งหนึ่งนานมาแล้ว มีเด็กชายคนหนึ่งชื่อว่า “แจ๊ค”
เขาอาศัยอยู่กับแม่ของเขา
พวกเขายากจนมาก
สมบัติที่พวกเขามีคือวัวเพียงหนึ่งตัว

One morning, Jack’s mother told Jack to take their cow to market and sell her.
On the way, Jack met a man. He gave Jack some magic beans for the cow.
Jack took the beans and went back home.
When Jack’s mother saw the beans she was very angry. She threw the beans out of the window.
เช้าวันหนึ่ง แม่ของแจ็คบอกแจ็คให้เอาวัวไปตลาดและขายมันซะ
ระหว่างทาง แจ็คพบกับชายคนหนึ่ง เขาให้เมล็ดถั่ววิเศษแก่แจ็คเพื่อแลกกับวัว
แจ็ครับเอาเมล็ดถั่ว และกลับบ้าน
เมื่อแม่ของแจ็คเห็นเมล็ดถั่ว หล่อนโกรธมาก หล่อนขว้างเมล็ดถั่วออกนอกหน้าต่าง

The next morning, Jack looked out of the window.
There was a giant beanstalk.
He went outside and started to climb the beanstalk.
He climbed up to the sky through the clouds.
เช้าต่อมา แจ๊คมองออกทางหน้าต่าง
มีต้นถั่วขนาดใหญ่หนึ่งต้น
เขาออกมาข้างนอก และเริ่มปีนต้นถั่ว
เขาปีนขึ้นบนฟ้า ผ่านก้อนเมฆ

Jack saw a beautiful castle.
He went inside.
Jack heard a voice. “Fee, Fi, Fo, Fum!”
Jack ran into a cupboard.
แจ็คมองเห็นปราสาทแสนสวย
เขาเข้าไปข้างใน
แจ็คได้ยินเสียง “ฟี ไฟ โฟ ฟัม”
แจ็คจึงวิ่งเข้าไปในตู้

An enormous giant came into the room and sat down.
On the table there was a hen and a golden harp.
“Lay!” said the giant.
The hen laid an egg. It was made of gold.
“Sing!” said the giant.
The harp began to sing.
ยักษ์ใหญ่ตนหนึ่ง เข้ามาในห้องและนั่งลง
บนโต๊ะมีแม่ไก่หนึ่งตัว และพิณทองหนึ่งตัว
“ออกไข่” ยักษ์พูด
แม่ไก่ออกไข่ เป็นไข่ทองคำ
“บรรเลง” ยักษ์พูด
พิณเริ่มบรรเลงเพลง

Soon the giant was asleep.
Jack jumped out of the cupboard.
He took the hen and the harp.
Suddenly, the harp sang, “Help, master!”
The giant woke up, and shouted, “Fee, Fi, Fo, Fum!”
ไม่นานต่อมา ยักษ์นอนหลับ
แจ๊คกระโดดออกจากตู้
เขาหยิบเอาแม่ไก่และพิณ
ทันใดนั้น พิณร้องว่า “ช่วยด้วย เจ้านาย”
ยักษ์ตื่นขึ้นและตะโกนว่า “ฟี ไฟ โฟ ฟัม”

Jack ran and started climbing down the beanstalk.
The giant came down after him.
Jack shouted, “Mother! Help!” Jack’s mother took an axe and chopped down the beanstalk.
The giant fell and crashed to the ground.
Nobody ever saw him again.
With the golden eggs and the magic harp, jack and his mother lived happily ever after.
แจ็ควิ่ง และเริ่มปีนลงทางต้นถั่ว
ยักษ์ปีนลงตามเขา
แจ๊คตะโกนว่า “แม่ ช่วยด้วย” แม่ของแจ็คหยิบเอาขวานและโค่นต้นถั่ว
ยักษ์ตกลงมาและกระแทกกับพื้น
ไม่มีใครเห็นเขาอีกเลย
แจ๊คกับแม่ของเขามีชีวิตอย่างมีความสุขนับตั้งแต่นั้นมา เพราะมีไข่ทองคำและพิณวิเศษ
